The "convenient" death of Cardinal Anthony J. Bevilacqua
"Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman asked the county coroner to examine the body of Cardinal Anthony J. Bevilacqua last week because the timing of the 88-year-old prelate's death struck her as "peculiar," she said Friday.
Ferman acknowledged that she enlisted county Coroner Walter I. Hofman because the cardinal died one day after a Philadelphia judge said Bevilacqua could be called to testify at the child sex-abuse and endangerment trial of three current and former priests.
"I had the same reaction that many people had and that many people communicated with me," Ferman told reporters at a news conference in Norristown. "It struck many of us as odd, as peculiar, that the cardinal passed away so suddenly after the court ruling. . . . I just thought that someone should make sure that nothing happened that was inappropriate."

Newt Gingrich joined his mistress' (now wife) Catholic church
I am about a day late with this news, but I thought it interesting that Newt Gingrich has finally joined the Roman Catholic "church" that his mistress (now wife) is a member of.
Regular readers will recall that the late Jerry Falwell invited the adulterer Gingrich to deliver the commencement address in 2007. And while Falwell dropped dead not long after praising Gingrich, the soon to be Catholic, thrice married Gingrich, delivered the 2007 commencement address to the largely Southern Baptist University.

Southern Baptist sex offender Darrell Gilyard returns to pulpit
Three years after pleading guilty to sex crimes, a Jacksonville pastor returned to the pulpit Sunday.
Darrell Gilyard presided over Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church before pleading guilty in 2009 to lewd molestation and lewd conduct with two teenage girls in his congregation. He served just less than three years in prison and was released at the end of December.
On Sunday, Gilyard served as a guest speaker Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on the Northside.
"He has a God given talent and I think he's paid his debts to society," said Fran Lewis, who attended services to hear Gilyard speak.
Members of the church said they are rallying behind their new guest pastor.
Minister Robert Greene said he recently met Gilyard for the first time and likes what he sees. He said he doesn’t know of any members that turned away, expressed disappointment or were upset about Gilyard's work with the church.

The tale of two reactions or the hate of Planned Parenthood supporters
I noticed an interesting dichotomy on my Facebook feed after the Susan G. Komen Foundation announced that they would no longer fund the infamous abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
One friend, herself a breast cancer survivor who was helped by Komen for the Cure, was delighted and made a post to Facebook sharing to good news. It was a lovely post full of love and light and even included a picture of smiling babies.
Another friend, who is actually a many times removed cousin who looked me up on Facebook several years ago, made a furious serious of posts in which she slammed and attacked Komen for the Cure in every was possible. She was in a rage, she could not stand the fact that Susan G. Koman was no longer going to fund the abortion mills at Planned Parenthood.
This woman, the cousin, is also a breast cancer survivor who just two days before all these events had announced that her breast cancer had returned and that she would be undergoing a mastectomy of her remaining breast. So her hate and rage took me by surprise. She also had been helped by the Susan G. Komen foundation.
The difference in these two ladies? One is a born again Christian, the other is a left wing liberal type. I'll leave it to my readers to hazard a guess as to which lady was glad, and which lady was in a rage.

Independent Fundamental Baptist IFB Missionaries Murdered in Mexico - RIP - John and Wanda Casias
The embassy identified the couple as John and Wanda Casias.
Valerie Alirez, the eldest child of John Casias, told The Associated Press from her home in Greeley, Colorado, that one of her brothers found her father and stepmother Tuesday dead in their home in Santiago, Nuevo Leon.
The family was originally from Amarillo, Texas, but relatives said John and Wanda Casias moved to Mexico in the late 1970s or early 1980s and made it their home.
