A former Cordova church pastor pleaded guilty today to charges that he sexually abused two teenage boys, including one with whom he [molested for 5 years].
Steven C. Haney, 48, who headed Walnut Grove Baptist Church for some 20 years, was placed on probation for eight years and will be added to the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.

The messages sent to the former church employee, a woman the pastor had counseled through a divorce last fall, include one in which Hillenburg invites her to join him at a movie theater where he said he was by himself. Another message informs her that "some whore just called me, had my phone number, from some bar, it was wild." Another message tells her: "Text me something dirty."
