Death: What awaits us?

How Jack Schaap at First Baptist Church Hammond and Hyles-Anderson College defiled MANY children, not just the child he acknowledged raping:

While vicious women like Jo-Beth Hooker accuse Jack Schaap's rape victim of being at fault because 54 year old pastor raped her and took her across state lines to rape her, the the truth is worse.

With the full approval of parents like Jo-Beth Hooker, Jack Schaap has been defiling the minds of young children in the congregation of First Baptist Church for many years. He has been defiling the minds of innocent children at Hammond Baptist Schools, he has been defiling the minds of students at Hyles-Anderson College. He even defiled the minds of young women who were on staff in his office.

Please read this testimony:

"There are many things about these letters that baffle me, but the one fact that I can't get away from is that so many of these people who are defending JS, and even blaming the girl, are parents who sat under JS's preaching and heard the perverse, perverted, often times sexually charged statements he made in front of all the children and young people at FBC, including their own, for years.

Somehow they fail to see that the girl JS abused may have been harmed by JS spiritually, mentally, and/or emotionally long before he ever touched her physically. She was only 5 or 6 when JS became her pastor. She sat under his teachings and attended Hammond Baptist Schools her whole life. Any parent who was paying attention and had a tinge of conscience at FBC must have had times when they struggled deeply with raising a child under the ministry of JS.

Most of the people at FBC guarded their children from music, tv, books, and movies that they believed contained mature subject matter, yet they let "Preacher" defile their children's hearts, and say and do in church that which they would never have allowed in their homes or lifestyle otherwise. So many times things were said that a child's young, developing mind and spirit may not have been ready to receive or fully understand or deal with on many levels, yet JS didn't seem to care.

Week after week, he stood behind the pulpit with so many young, innocent faces and wide eyes staring back at him and never fully seemed to see them. He did not seem to consider the harm he was doing to so many of them by making inappropriate statements or sharing sexual examples or illustrations that were far too mature for impressionable hearts.

Many times he would say something that was so outrageous I was sure someone, a deacon, or staff member, or some parent would jump up and stop it or intercede for the children, but of course, that never happened. Instead the men behind him "Amened" him. Now, instead of feeling shame or remorse for this, they and/or their wives write letters defending it.

As much as JS and FBC loved to brag on the great HAC and HBHS, there were times JS would use a sermon at church to correct deep problems at the schools. Some of the things going on were twisted. Why he felt he should or why he seemed to enjoy tainting the entire church with the perverted, sinful behavior that seemed to be common in their schools I don't know. There were thousands of people at FBC who did not have children in HB or HAC. They either had no children, or their children were too young for school, or they home schooled, or attended public school, there were scores of adults whose children were grown, there are a lot of elderly people that make up the congregation, and yet all were forced to hear of the sometimes detailed perversion of the young people actions at school.

In addition to this, JS often made personal visits to the schools to speak or preach and influence these children without their parents really knowing what he was saying to them. Maybe those who wrote letters blaming the girl need to write a letter and take some responsibility for sitting behind JS on the platform, or standing behind him with their actions and attitudes and encouraging him from the pew while he planted seeds of corruption and defilement in the hearts of the children who were growing up over the last 10 years at FBC?

I have personally gone to speak with staff members at the church about this very problem and poured my heart out providing extreme examples of heartbreaking scenarios, but they did not seem to care. It was clear to me that hurting a child emotionally or spiritually was not of much concern to them because they can not be charged or damaged legally or financially for doing so or allowing it. Yet I believe the church and every member will one day give account for what was allowed, ignored or condoned regarding the teaching and treatment of these young ones simply because it came straight from their "Man of God", the one who should have been seeking to guard and nourish their delicate hearts for the Lord, instead of compromising and hurting them in ways we may never fully understand."

The person who wrote this did sign their name, but I have not placed it here intentionally. Should you wish any further information please see "Do Right Hyles-Anderson" on Facebook. Please note: Not everyone there is saved and there are some people who are just as bad as Jack Schaap was, so use your discretion. But there are many good Christian people posting there now that they have a safe place to talk about what happened at First Baptist Church Hammond under the ministry of Jack Schaap.  Part 2 coming.
