Former Liberty University official sentenced on drug charge

A former Liberty University official is learning how much time he'll spend in jail for stealing a prescription painkiller.

Scott Alan Ray was sentenced Wednesday afternoon to 18 months in prison.

Ray pled guilty in February to four counts of breaking and entering and one count of stealing the prescription drug "Hydrocodone."

Prosecutors say Ray took the drug from a Campbell County home.

Ray was also sentenced to pay approximately $1,700 to the people he stole from.

The 44-year-old served as director of convocations at Liberty University until his arrest last fall http://www.wdbj7.com/Global/story.asp?S=12351644
